Jeremy Pominville Re-Signs with Watertown Wolves

The Watertown Wolves are pleased to announce that they have agreed to terms with returning goaltender Jeremy Pominville for the upcoming season. This means that Jeremy will return for a second season wearing the Wolves uniform.

Last season was unusual and at times draining for Pominville, as Wolves other goaltenders were called up to play elsewhere, Jeremy was often forced to play almost every night. Despite that, he still managed to post some impressive numbers throughout the season, and finished with a record of 16 wins and 17 losses, as well as two OT losses.

Despite having to carry a heavy workload, Jeremy managed to maintain a 3.61 GAA and a .906 Save percentage which is quite impressive. Perhaps the most memorable game of the season for Jeremy was the outing against the defending champion Carolina Thunderbirds, where he faced an increadible 71 shots on goal, saving 70 of them, as well as 3 Penalty shots in the shootout round, as the Wolves came away with a 3-1 win. Thus, you can say just because the record was rough, Jeremy is most than capable of producing consistent goaltending.

“It`s good to be back for another season” Pominville said. “With all the uncertainty because of the pandemic pushing the season back it’s a little weird but I`m ready to get back to it.” Pominville was asked about the level of competition that will be attending training camp. “I personally think it’s a good thing, at this level you always have someone coming in and competing for a spot which causing some of the other goalies to perform much better and get better every day.” “Its going to be a great season to be a wolf and I feel we definitely have the talent to win a championship.”

Pominville now joins a very impressive group of goaltenders that will be battling it out for the coveted roster spots. Those goalies are veteran Nick Niedert, Austin Washkurak, Michael Cosentino and Blazej Kapica from Poland. The Watertown Wolves continue to build a very impressive and strong roster gearing up for the 2020-2021 season. You can bet that Wolves fan are counting the days till the Wolves take the ice in search for a 3rd Commissioner Cup title.
